This week has been as hard as last week to pick out the final three. Lack of local action, due to the weather and fewer nominations from overseas, left us with a credible shortlist of 4. We did get it down to the final 3 though after a fews hours of heated debate.
Here are the winners in reverse order:-
3rd, Kevin Peiterson - Maybe unlucky not to have won this week after scoring a double century in Adelaide during the second test and also taking the vital wicket of Micheal Clarke with the last ball on the fourth day. That in itself probably secured victory as it opened up the flood gates of tumbling wickets before the rains fell.
2nd, Graeme McDowell overhauled a four shot deficit on Tiger Woods to win the Chevron World Challenge on the first extra play off hole. Tiger was looking to record his first win in over a year and looked as if it was secure after round three. Mcdowell though had other thoughts and shot a 69 to Woods 73, to take him to a play off. Mcdowell now moves up to 7th in the world rankings.
The Winner is - Leyton Orient, playing Droylsden in the FA cup they went 1 nil down then had a player sent off. Things got worse early in the 2nd half when the visitors doubled their lead. A penalty 13 minutes from time gave Orient hope, 2 miutes later droylsden had a player sent off making 10 v 10. In the 89th minute Orient equalised to take it to extra time but, not before going down to 9 men.
3 Minutes later it was 3 - 2 to the hosts and Droylsden were reduced to nine men too. This is when the fun started as two hat tricks were completed over the next 30 minutes and Leyton Orient ran out 8 - 2 victors. They now face Norwich in the 3rd round.
Until next week, enjoy your sport.
