We have recently heard of the very sad plight of one young lad, Harry Millsop. He was diagnosed with the incurable, progressive degenerative metabolic disease causing deterioration of the brain and nervous system. This will ultimately result in premature death. It is a rare form of Battens disease.
We can't cure Harry or any of the 500 cases worldwide but, we can help raise awareness of the disease and if possible raise funds for The Harry Millsop Trust.
I have mentioned to the IT department that it would be a good idea to aim for a fundraising run early next year. They are not the fittest bunch but are all up for the challenge. We are now looking at organising two teams within the company, to stimulate competition.
Our next challenge is to find a 10k run to enter locally, for our Sportsballshop 10k challenge. Then we will need to get the office and warehouse guys to start training. I will keep you up to date with our battles with the training and how the setting up of the two teams works out.
